• In 2021, then-Senator Curtis Hertel and his wife, Elizabeth, the Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, took their children to Gulf Shores, Alabama for Spring Break, even as Director Hertel and Governor Whitmer were issuing restrictions on Michiganders’ ability to travel.

• Additionally, Director Hertel was not fully vaccinated, even as she was using her department to compel other Michiganders to get vaccinated.
